Hurt Locker, which I haven’t seen, is the lowest-grossing Oscar winner in modern history … the limited-release film earned $14 million in box-office receipts.
Is there a long tail? In terms of Twitter buzz, Hurt Locker beat out Sandra Bullock with 39,951 tweets in its peak hour. Here’s more if you care to know what an Oscar will do for your Twitter rank.
How life has changed. <Woof>

I’m freezing. But, I do love the rain. I should upload a video, it’s pouring outside. I love it. I want coffee but I haven’t any decaf. Would not be good later … but I do look forward to morning thanks to Sumatra.
So, this is a post to get rid of the last one. How is that for honesty? I haven’t plugged my book here, have I? I think not.
Be a part of it … Transparency True. How Social Media Changed the World. Seriously, please let me know if you want to live under a microscope for a week, while we test your truth.
Stay tuned.

I read my old stuff, but not very often. When I do, I am often struck at how good an idea, or a theory was. I remember the excitement as I doodled the logo or initials of a new project. Yet, this project, business, or next Google killer has not emerged from it’s napkin birthplace … nothing more than a doodle, a drip in a bucket. What the hell am I doing with all these fantastic ideas ?
Cough. I’m tired. But, I have a plan. Stay tuned as we begin to follow along for a whirl-o-wind ride.
Yeah yeah. So this is a throw-it-away post, my one reader would tell me. But, this blog is for me, remember? For me. Damnit. Don’t judge me here. It’s my space. My house, my yard.
It may not always be exciting, but it’s always My own good advice on this virtual spot.

Film made for $15000 hits number one.
With weeks of viral marketing and a promotional campaign driven by social networks like Twitter and Facebook behind it, Oren Eli’s Paranormal Activity (Paramount) expanded into just under 2,000 theaters on Friday and successfully took the box office with an estimated $22 million and an astounding cumulative gross of $62.5 million after less than a month in theaters. It’s surely going to be considered one of the memorable phenomena of 2009, having cost less than $15,000 to produce, the rights sold to Paramount for roughly $300,000 and then being distributed by one of the most unique and unconventional methods we’ve seen in some time.
See the full story here.
I didn’t see it. I was too afraid. But the social media component is worth close examination.
Why does social media carry the message so quickly and efficiently? It works on many levels, making it a strong communication tool in building relationships.
Free exposure.
Social media is highly rewarded in the search engines.
It’s a way to renew each moment, as you wish.
Segment audiences, if appropriate, aggregate data at will.
Demonstrate history, credentials, samples, process, etc.
Trackable.
Logs of detailed information about visitors, from where visitors are to what page directed them to your page, much data is available.
Easily audit ad effectiveness, editorial reach, competition, etc.
More to come … bird wants to eat my monitor.

the brain dump is something i use, a tool, to clear my thoughts. here’s one –
stupid kid, demanded emotional attention, when i should have been typing – he made trending topics
i built this blog to get it outta my head . this is where that happens
gets too crowded in my head . which piece goes with what part – my drawing board to store, share, draft, edit, outline, storyboard … even publish
ideas, plans, forework, all the brain-clogging material out into a place that allows examination …
and ultimately, use
that’s where you find reward
a voice
therapy
revenue
record

I mean to say, it’s late, almost 4:30 AM on Saturday morning. I need to finish this quick post and go to bed before I see the sky turning blue.
I recently talked to a client that lives a tv show. He really does. He and his family are touched with Hollywood Magic. He doesn’t know he’s this marketable, he thinks he’s a starving artist, but he is what I’ve been saying we all are now, he’s real and his story is fantastic. We are the new tv.
It’s too late to blog now, but let this be a reminder to all of us that I need to finish this conversation. Later.
Woof !

Life has been chaotic. A lot going on, working to sell Remembering.com and keeping the lights on.
But, love is good – pack is healthy – much to be happy about. I have wonderful friends and family!
